Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Shooting Stars, By Death We’re Wed & Grieving Flame (reformulated) Swatches

I swatched¬†my new full sized Innocent + Twisted Alchemy shades, enoy ūüôā

Shooting Stars

(Holiday 2011)

Official description: Shooting Stars is a navy blue with an explosion of golden sparkles.

My opinion: Is my old favourite and I actually¬†helped Linda to¬†create it. It’s a dusty navy blue with thousands of golden flaked sparkles.

By Death We’re Wed

Official description: By Death We’re Wed is a soft black with a rainbow of shimmers.

My opinion: I got this shade as a gift and it’s spectacular. I think it’s even better than Fyrinnae Immortal. It’s a deep charcoal black with multicolored flakies. Gorgeous. I used it in my Deadly Wedding look.

Grieving Flame

(Holiday 2011)

Official description: Is a medium gray with a “flame” duochrome and sparkles.

My opinion: I asked Linda to create a¬†The¬†Little Match Girl related shade. And she did a great job. This is the new, reformulated Grieving Flame and it’s even better than the first version, that you can see HERE. I must swatch them one time together to show you the difference, but all in all the new one has a much more stronger duochrome shift. It’s a pewter/taupe¬†shade with an olive tinge, a coppery/gold duochrome sheen and some gold sparkles. Imagine a shade that you mix out of Fyrinnaes Te Amo and Sacred and add some golden sparkles.

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Endless Rain Collection – Swatches

Pic’s are clickable.

Endless Rain Collection

I received¬†a while ago samples of this breathtaking collection that the lovely¬†Linda has created. All colors are fine milled, apply smoothly and are good pigmented. I love purples, blues and greens, so this range of colors suits my taste perfectly. The shades have mostly a (low)shimmer finish, but some are even duochromes ‚̧

Velvet Tears

Official description: Warm red with green, turquoise, and blue shimmer. Has a subtle green sheen

My opinion: Velvet Tears is a very interesting¬†brick-red¬†shade with green/turquoise/blue sparkles. It belongs to the brown/red/green category of shades like Sweetscent’s Chameleon, Fyrinnae’s Conjuror or Darling Girl Cosmetic’s Comet, but it’s a wannabe duochrome shade, lol. It’s not a duochrome and also not a flat one color shade. It’s something in between and that’s what it makes so special.

1000 Cherry Trees

Official description: Pale, frosted pink.

My opinion: 1000 Cherry Trees is a neutral frosted pink with a buttery consistency ‚̧ I’m so in love in this shade! It has such a pretty name and it’s so multitasking! Great for brighten up tired looking eyes with adding it¬†on the¬†tear duct¬†area,¬†it’s also a perfect highlighter¬†for using it on¬†browbone, on cheekbone, etc..

Lavish Lollipops

Official description: Mauve pink that has a lavender undertone with a strong gold duochrome and gold shimmers.

My opinion: Lavish Lollipops reminds me on Fyrinnae’s Meerkat. Actually I prefer this even more. A gorgeous duochrome shade with a mauve base and a¬†golden shimmer finish.

Needs More Lace

Official description: Medium purple with a blue duochrome and aqua sparkles.

My opinion: Actually this is also a duochrome shade. The effect is a little less visible, but it’s there. Needs More Lace has a purple base and an indigo/blue shift.

Sleepwalking Pastorals

Official description: Warm green with a subtle golden duochrome and sprinkles of blue sparkles.

My opinion: I don’t know why but I just adore this shade! I love love¬†the name, because¬†it¬†so magical¬†to me¬†and¬†I immediately thinking about fairy tales.¬†Sleepwalking Pastorals is a silky mossy green shade¬†that contains many different shades of sparkles. This makes the shade very unique and a must have for me. One of my favourites! (I’m a green lover)

Cold Grace

Official description: Purple that has a red undertone with blue shimmers and sprinkles of fuchsia sparkles.

My opinion: Cold Grace is a crocus lilac shade with a soft blurple duochrome shift. A very rich and pretty shade!

Official description: Olive with gold and blue shimmers.

My opinion: Weedwhacker¬†is my least favourite, but it’s still not a shade that I could not use. It’s a muted shimmery olive shade with a lighter silvery-olive shift and aqua sparkles.

Endless Rain

Official description: Endless Rain is a soft metallic teal with a green sheen with sprinklings of white sparkles.

My opinion: One of my favourites! It a darker cousin of¬†Fyrinnae’s¬†Digital Faerie, but its way¬†more complex and has a more shimmery and not silky finish like Digital Faerie. A must have! ‚̧

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – FOTD

18 Dec

Remember my first review of Innocent + Twisted Alchemy? I’ve¬†created a¬†FOTD with all shades that¬†I got, but never¬†published the look.. Here is it ūüôā

I used:

On eyes:

  • Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Broken Hearted Trio – Cardio Blemish¬†– on lid
  • Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Broken Hearted Trio – J’aQ in the Box¬†– outer V
  • Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Broken Hearted Trio – Spinal Affliction – under lash line
  • Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Silent Lucidity – tear duct
  • Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Innocent + Twisted – applied over a black liner

  • Meow Cosmetics – Egyptian¬†Treasures –¬†Diety Glow Powder

  • Manhattan – Soft Mat Lipcream – 56K

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Holiday 2011 – Swatches

10 Dec
Pic’s are clickable.

Because of some terrible health problems in my family I am mainly on hiatus with my blog activity for now… However.. I really¬†wanted to show you the swatches of I+T Alchemy Holiday Collection, that is available only while supplies last (it’s a LE)!

I had the pleasure to¬†participate in the creation¬†phase of the Holiday 2011 collection. I’m so happy¬†that¬†Linda¬†(owner of Innocent + Twisted)¬†gave me this opportunity! Thank you dear <3!

Now to the collection:

Tragic Chord

Official description: Tragic Chord is a gold with a slight green sheen and sparkles.

My opinion: This shade is a molten gold that’s great for olive toned ladies! It has a metallic finish, a green tinge and some green sparkles. Very lovely¬†and soo smooth!

Mystic & Divine

Official description: Mystic & Divine is a silver with a red sheen and sparkles.

My opinion: M&D is a medium metallic silver with a red tinge and some red sparkles. Here I missed a bigger amount of the red sparkles that it contains ūüė¶ But it’s still a nice silver color.

Yule of Eternity

Official description: Yule of Eternity is a copper with a purple sheen and sparkles.

My opinion: I think that¬†Yule of¬†Eternity¬†really is a nice shade, especially for girls that love¬†gentle types of a shades, but I prefer more colors that shock you at the first sight ūüėÄ Somehow I’m missing more depth in this color (maybe a stronger duochrome effect). But overall it’s a nice coppery color with a raspberry sheen, that’s great¬†for nude and earthly looks ūüėČ

Grieving Flame

Official description: Grieving Flame is a medium gray with gold, red, and orange sparkles.

My opinion: This shade is inspired by the Grimm tale Little Match Girl. I love the story (although¬†it’s sad) and I love this color! This is how I wanted that Fyrinnae’s¬†Atomic Afterglow would look like!¬†GF is a medium ashy grey with a sheen that’s sometimes more golden and sometimes¬†more orangey-red. Looove!

Guilty Grinch

Official description: Guilty Grinch is a dark teal with multi-colored sparkles.

My opinion: Now this shade shocked me! It’s a bold teal with sparkles and a super pretty aqua sheen! I saw so many times similar teal shades, but this is different! I don’t know why, but somehow I really like the result that the base and sheen provide together¬†ūüôā

Champagne Bath

Official description: Champagne Bath is a dirty rose with golden sparkles.

My opinion: When I saw the official pictures of this shade I was really curious how it will turn out on my skin. It’s¬†brownish base with a mauve/rose sheen and golden sparkle. Normally I don’t wear mauve shades, but I had high expectations for this shade because of the golden sheen/sparkle. The color didn’t¬†disappoint me!¬†It’s so alluring and complex!¬†One of my favourites ‚̧

Peppermint Kisses

Official description: Peppermint Kisses is a satin white with a slight red sheen and red sparkles.

My opinion: Peppermint Kisses is a shimmery¬†white with red sparkles and¬†a slight¬†pink/red sheen. I’m not really a lover of white shades, because they make me look sick, so I’m not really in love with this color. But I like the complexity of the shade (especially the red sparkles). I must try this as a HL, maybe it will surprise me.

Shooting Stars

Official description: Shooting Stars is a navy blue with an explosion of golden sparkles.

My opinion: One of the shades that Linda created with me (and my sister). Shooting stars is a deep navy blue shade with an explosion of ¬†golden sparkles! It’s mysterious, alluring and one of my favourites ‚̧

Hidden Present

Official description: Hidden Present is an army green with an explosion of pink sparkles.

My opinion: One of the shades that Linda created with me (and my sister). Now this is my FAVOURITE of the bunch! It’s an army/pine green with a strong pink/purple duochrome in form of sparkles! Sooo¬†pretty! ‚̧ ‚̧ ‚̧ Unfortunately is that the only shade where I wasn’t able to capture the strong duochrome effect. But I guarantee you that it has a duochrome effect.

Pink Liquor

Official description: Pink Liquor is a bold pink with a lavender sheen and golden sparkles.

My description: One of the shades that Linda created with me (and my sister). Pink Liquor is a hot pink with golden/copper sparkles and a cool lavender sheen. I wanted a shade with a warm base, cool sheen and¬†warm sparkles. The base and the sheen are really pretty, but I wish it will have the double amount of the golden sparkles…

Tragic Chord, Mystic & Divine and Yule of Eternity:

Grieving Flame, Guilty Grinch, Champagne Bath & Peppermint Kisses:

Shooting Stars, Hidden Present & Pink Liquor:

The shades are overall very pretty. They are all good pigmented and fine milled. I love the sparkles and the¬†shine in the shades, I only wish that some details in particular colors were more visible (more duochrome effect, more sparkles etc.). But overall, I’m really satisfied. I think that Shooting Stars, Hidden Present and Champagne Bath are my favourites. I’m sooo excited to see more shades from Linda, especially the Paradise Kiss inspired shades, that she plans to create.

I must add, that I understand that some formulations depend from¬†budget.. So I’m really excited to see more from¬†Linda!¬†She really is very talented and for now she’s¬†one of my top indie companies, next to Fyrinnae and Meow Cosmetics ūüėČ

Quick update and Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Holiday Collection – Collaboration

14 Nov

Quick Update

I know I was not very active in the past two weeks. My day cycle changed a little bit and I still have some problems to deal with that. Somehow in this time I don’t have very much energy¬†to writing posts.¬†I have a¬†ton of swatches to post (some Pandora Box, two of Zombie Apocalypse from Meow, a few Persephone Minerals; Sailor Senshi swatches, and a whole bunch of Sundara Cosmetics shades) but somehow I really¬†don’t have the energy to edit and post them :/. I promise not to stop writing. And when I will be better, I promise to slowly post some swatches again! I don’t know what’s happening to me, but I always need a break here and there from all the swatching mania. You must know that I make a bazillion of shots of a collection and than slowly deleting the most unatractive pictures, until I have just a few, most accurate pic’s. Then I’m editing them when I think the picture is too dull, too reddish or whatever. Also, writhing in english is not really my thing, but I think I learning it slowly.. And I’m lazy sometimes too.. egh.. Anyway I also promised to make two F/EOTD’s as a guest post, but somehow I have: a) doubt’s of the quality of my pictures, b) don’t like how my face looks on the pic c)I’m not satisfied with the lightning/sharpness on the photo.. I’m a very complicated/precise person, and that’s sometimes not a priority xD..

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Holiday Collection – Collaboration

Ok.. enough of the drama.. Despite of that that I don’t have fun with editing the swatches and etc. I do have fun with Linda, the owner of Innocent + Twisted Alchemy.

She decided to make a Holiday Collection, including 10 shades. She already posted 7 shades on her blog/facebook site, and the other three unposted shades are a collaboration with me (and my sister :>).

First, the already posted shades:

1. Tragic Chord

Linda wrote:  Tragic Chord is a gold with a slight green sheen and shimmers.

My opinion: I think this shade is fabulous! Is type of a calming down shade in the collection. On the pictures the sheen looks like a sage green РI like that!

2. Mystic & Divine

Linda wrote: Mystic & Divine – Silver with a red sheen and sparkles.

My opinion: Love the name! I asked if the sheen is IRL more visible than on the pictures. The answer: “It’s definitely more visible than in this pic and my swatch.” If that’s true, the shade will be amazing!

3. Yule of Eternity

Linda wrote: Copper with a purple sheen and sparkles.

My opinion: I thin this is my favourite of her created shades for this collection! Im sooo in love with that combination :O I’m very exited too see this IRL.

4. Champagne Bath

Linda wrote: Champagne Bath was supposed to be a burgundy with golden sparkles. But while making this, I came up with this gorgeous dirty rose shade and decided to keep it as this instead.

My opinion: My skin is not really a friend of mauve, rose colored shades, but this looks very interesting because of the golden sparkle in it.

5. Grieving Flame

Linda wrote: Grieving Flame – Medium gray with gold, red, and orange sparkles.

My opinion: At the beginning I suggested to make a collection, based on the “The Little Matchgirl” story, but we didn’t had¬†any idea what to create.. except this shade.

6. Peppermint Kisses

Linda wrote: Peppermint Kisses – A satin white with a slight red sheen and red sparkles.

My opinion: Like Linda already wrote on her blog, the picture is too poor too see the sheen/sparkles. But I expect a really interessting shade!

7. Guilty Grinch

Linda wrote: Guilty Grinch – Shimmery blue-green with magenta and rainbow glitters.

My opinion: I’m soo exited to see how the magenta and rainbow glitter looks in a blue green base! Overall I love teal/blue-green shades!

The last three shades are a creation of three people. I and my sister created the names and the description, and Linda mixed them. She already sent me pictures of the shades and I think they will be gorgeous!¬†The funny thing about is, that me and my sister immediately BOTH had the idea of a blue, green and a red/pink shade. We have a similar taste so we quickly (in¬†30 minutes) created and named¬†all the four shades ūüėÄ Linda picked three shades:

8. One is a navy bright¬†blue shade with some gold sparkle/shimmer. I got the¬†inspiration, thinking on shooting stars ūüėČ

9. One is a HOT pink shade (generally never liked pinks, but slowly I’m changing my mind) with two kinds of glitter; bronze and golden¬†and a lavender sheen ‚̧ My sister had the idea for the name¬†– Pink Liqour, my idea was to name it Pink Champagne, but Linda liked sister’s verison more ūüėÄ

10. And one is¬†an army green shade with a PINK shimmer! I don’t know why I like this so much, maybe because of the strange combination ‚̧ Let’s say that I will keep the name of this shade still secret ;D The idea of the color combination was somehow born between the conversation with my sister and it’s a creation of both of us.

Here’s also the drawing that will suit to the collection:

I’m so thankful and happy/exited that I could collab Linda! She’s such a nice person ūüėČ Thank you!

Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Review and Swatches

23 Oct

Pic’s are clickable.

Innocent + Twisted is a pretty new company in the indie makeup world.¬† The owner Linda love to add a “twist” to¬†her shades by putting in sheens or sparkles that don’t seem to fit the ‘base’ color. She’s trying to be unique and different ūüôā I think this is a great idea because the company is really different and unique.

About two weeks ago, she asked me, if I would make a review of her company. I agreed because I already noticed the company¬†on Kimmie Karma’s Love¬†¬†blog and was curious if the products really are similar to Fyrinnae’s. Linda said that I¬†can choose a full size, two clamshells and two baggies.

Linda is a very nice person that quickly response to emails, questions etc. ūüôā

The package arrived to me in 9 work days (included preparation time). For me is that really quick, because I’m an international customer ūüėČ Shipping ranges from $1.00- $4.00.

First impressions

The package was sealed with a pretty pink tape, that appeared again on the full size jar. I had no problems to remove it. In the package was a cellophane baggy with pink hearts and a 4″ x 6″ print of Broken Heart that you recieve¬†when you buy the Broken Heart trio (Hell Wonderland Collection).¬† The design of the company is just amazing. Btw. all the art is her own (^o^). She really is talented.

On to the cellophane baggy. It contained:

  • a full size (I¬†picked J’aQ in the Box from the Broken Heart trio),
  • two clamshells (Spinal Affliction and Cardio – Blemish, from the Broken Heart trio),
  • two baggies (Silent Lucidity and Innocent+Twisted),
  • an information list,
  • an ingredients list (on the back is an illustration that probably represents an innocent and a twisted girl)
  • the invoice with a thank you and a cute kitty sticker <3,
  • and a business card.

On to the piggies. All¬†shades are good pigmented, fine milled¬†and apply very smoothly. It’s easy to work with them and I’m very impressed of the quality and the uniqueness-complexiticy of them.

Full Size

The full size is a 5 gram jar, that holds about 1.63 grams of product. You can get it for $6.00. On my lid is a detail of the Broken Hearted trio picture. I really love that because you immediately know which collection the jar belongs. The shades, that not belong to a collection, for example the regular shades, have on the lid a sticker with the name of the company, on a checkered background. On the bottom is a soft matte plastic sticker that contains information about the shade (name and number of the shade, a collection or regular, lip safe or not, vegan or not).

J’aQ¬†in the Box

(Broken Hearted trio – Hell Wonderland Collection)

Official description: J’aQ¬†in the Box [VEGAN; eyes, lips, face safe] : Rich metallic chocolate-brown with a red sheen and sparkles.

Ingredients РTitanium Dioxide (77891, 13463-67-7), Iron Oxide (77491, 77492, 77499, 1309-37-1-38-2, 1317-61-9), Tin Oxide (778161, 18282-10-5), Mica (77019, 12001-26-2), Magnesium Myristrate, Zinc Oxide, Cetyl Dimethicone (77091, 0584276), Polyethylene Terephthalate, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate (65997-17-3), Silica (7631-86-9)

My description: J’aQ in the Box is a dirty reddish-brown with a taupe-mauve shimmer and gorgeous red sparkles! I’m very happy to¬†pick this as the full size choice ūüôā¬†It’s a every-day shade with a twist ‚̧

Clamshells holds about 0,8 grams / 1/2 teaspoon of product. You can get a clamshell for $2.00. Like the full size, they have a picture on the lid. My two have the same picture like the full size, because they are all from the same collection (Broken Hearted trio from the Hell Wonderland Collection). On the bottom, are informations about the shade (name and number of the shade, a collection or regular, vegan or not, lipsafe or not).

Spinal Affliction

(Broken Hearted trio – Hell Wonderland Collection)

Official description: Spinal Affliction [VEGAN; not lip safe] : Medium taupe with a gray and pink sheen.
Spinal Affliction РTitanium Dioxide (77891, 13463-67-7), Iron Oxide (77491, 77492, 77499, 1309-37-1-38-2, 1317-61-9-67-7), Tin Oxide (778161, 18282-10-5), Mica (77019, 12001-26-2), Magnesium Myristrate, Zinc Oxide, Cetyl Dimethicone (77091, 0584276), Silica (7631-86-9), Ultramarines; Pigment Red 259 (77007, 57455-37-5).

My description: Spinal Affliction is an ashy brown shade with a duochrome taupe-mauve sheen. Very pretty and unusual.

Cardio Blemish

(Broken Hearted trio – Hell Wonderland Collection)

Official description: Cardio-Blemish [VEGAN; eyes, lips, face safe] : Red with an explosion of blue sparkles.

Cardio-Blemish РTitanium Dioxide (77891, 13463-67-7), Iron Oxide (77491, 1309-37-1), Tin Oxide (778161, 18282-10-5), Mica (77019, 12001-26-2), Magnesium Myristrate, Zinc Oxide, Cetyl Dimethicone (77091, 0584276), Polyethylene Terephthalate.

My descritpion: This shade is a metallic medium red with a coppery tinge, electric blue sparkles and some golden-copper sparkles. It has a lighter red-pink sheen. Wow, I never seen a shade like that before. It’s also the most creamy shadow of them all and applies veeery smoothly.

I don’t know if baggies are normally¬†available, instead of them you can on choose the clamshells. On my baggies are, like on the full size and on the¬†clamshells,¬†informations¬†about of the shade (name of the shade,¬†a collection or regular,¬†lipsafe¬†or not, vegan or not, AND ingredients!). I picked¬†two shades from the regular line.

Silent Lucidity

Official description: Silent Lucidity is a medium blue-ish gray with orange shimmer. This product is VEGAN and NOT lip safe!

INGREDIENTS:  Mica (77019, 12001-26-2), Titanium Dioxide (77891, 13463-67-7), Magnesium Myristrate, Zinc Oxide, Magnesium Stearate (557-04-0)
Iron Oxide (77499, 77491, 1309-37-1, 1309-38-2), Ferric Ferrocyanide (77510, 14038-43-8), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate (65997-17-3), Silica (7631-86-9), Tin Oxide (778161, 18282-10-5), Boron Nitride (10043-11-5), Ferric Ferrocyanide (77510, 14038-43-8), Ultramarines (77007, 1317-97-1), Polyethylene Terephthalate.

My description: For me Silent Lucidity is¬†a¬†light blue with some grey undertones and some white-blue iridescence. I don’t really see a orange shimmer in it, but it contains some gorgeous glitter that remind’s me on the glitter, that contains Fyrinnae’s Dinosaur Plushie. I think the shade is great for use it in the tear duct, but it’s too boring for me, to use it as a lid color. It will be great when the shade would really contain some visible orange shimmer, or¬†orange glitter, or even an orange iridescence (*o*).

Innocent + Twisted

Official description: Innocent + Twisted is a blackened red with intense red shimmer. This product is VEGAN and NOT lip safe!

INGREDIENTS:  Mica (77019, 12001-26-2), Titanium Dioxide (77891, 13463-67-7, 13464-67-7), Magnesium Myristrate, Iron Oxide (77499, 77491, 1309-37-1, 1317-61-9, 1309-38-2), Polyethylene Terephthalate, Tin Oxide (778161, 18282-10-5), Silica (7631-86-9), Ultramarines (77007, 1317-97-1), Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate (65997-17-3).

My description: Innocent + Twisted is my favourite of the bunch. It’s so complex!¬†It has a black base with a huge amount of purple-red and golden sparkles. I discovered out that this little baby changes the color on different lighting, similar¬†like Fyrinnae’s Arcane Magic line. On sun it has a more red-purple sheen, In daylight it’s more purple, and in some angles,¬†you can now see a more brown-purple sheen. Alluring ‚̧

I didn’t set high hopes, because sometimes you can be dissapointed¬†that way. But when the package arrived I was pretty surprised! All the love and joy, and also hard work, that Linda trasfers¬†in the products and in the package is amazing. I’m really pleased that I could¬†make this review. I’m so in love with the idea of this company and all the little details found in it. I think Innocent + Twisted has has¬†a bright future, because of the uniquness of the shades and the amazing design <3.

You can find this shades here: Innocent + Twisted Alchemy – Etsy

The products were sent to me free for the review, but all opinions are mine!
